When you are first starting out in homesteading/farmsteading one of the the things you have to consider is the cost to run a small farm. Unfortunately, there is no one quick and easy answer to how much it cost to run a farm. There are a articles out there on the cost of purchasing a farm or homestead. There are articles about the cost of raising animals. To truly get a good idea of what it will cost you to run your farm or homestead is going to take some research. There are several factors to consider when considering the cost of running a farm such as the number and types of animals you will raise (because some animals are just more costly to raise plain and simple), if you plan to make any income from the farm, cost of water, plants, gardening material, the list goes on. But if you plan to make money from your farm (and have a way to do it) then your cost to run the farm will be offset. Weed ’em and Reap has a great little break down of their cost to operate for one year and I think you’ll be surprised at the cost. It’s encouraging news for those of us just starting out in this venture. Have a great day and God bless!
