Did you read that title? Car radiators in the greenhouse? What!? Why? I promise there is a good reason. It’s the perfect solution to heating and cooling the greenhouse. Northern Homestead has a great post regarding why they put a car radiator in their greenhouse and gave you just enough information that if you decide to tackle this you can probably figure it out. That’s why I chose this post as my favorite for the blog hop this week. With a little tweaking I think this could be a genius solution. I would find a post on making a DIY solar panel for the greenhouse rooftop, get a battery (or two depending on how much draw there is on the battery and how often you would need to run it for your climate), a thermostat to automate the system, and hook it up so that the system is completely green and off-grid. For those in northern climates this would eliminate any problems with grid outages during storms so no loss of plants. If you really think about it, the time and effort you would put into this would be well worth the potential money losses associated with losing all your plants in the greenhouse. Check it out and see if it might be a great solution to heating and cooling your greenhouse.
I am proud to join some of my blogging friends The Homesteading Hippy, Spring Mountain Living, Lil’ Suburban Homestead , The Homestead Lady, Urban Overalls , Once Upon A Time in A Bed of Wildflowers, Oh Sweet Mercy , Lady Lee’s Home, and Honey’s Life in hosting the blog hop. This is a great opportunity to link up a post if you are a blogger or to find some great articles across a wide range of subjects from many different bloggers. This is going to be a ton of fun and I hope that if you have a blog you will link up with us, and if you are one of my wonderful readers you will take a moment to find some great information that I may not cover because it is outside my wheelhouse.
Now, let’s get on with the party! This week’s Favorites chosen by the bloggers from last weeks link up:
