“And he said unto them,’ Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth'”. (Luke 12: 15)
It is easy, in a world where we are told we deserve everything and we are owed everything, to be jealous (covetous) of what those around us have. It is easy to see your neighbor’s house and be jealous that it has more square footage than your house, or to see their fancy new car, and look at your vehicle with disgust, but Jesus tells us not to covet. The richness of our lives can not be measured in worldly possessions. It is measured in the blessings we receive from our Father in heaven, particularly the blessing of eternal life through salvation. Count your blessings daily, not your possessions. Have a great day and God bless!
