Mrs. Lone Star found this bacon ranch chicken recipe about a year ago. We liked it but we have changed things around some to fit our taste and now we LOVE IT! As a matter of fact, when we had this a few days ago I told Mrs. Lone Star that it might be my favorite meal she fixes. It is fairly simple to make and as a crock pot chicken meal it can be put on earlier in the day and left until supper. The original recipe is courtesy of Crockin Girls. You can find more recipes from them which I am sure are delicious too. Without further ado, here is the recipe as we prepare it.

- 4 Chicken Breasts
- Bacon Bits
- 1 Tsp minced garlic
- 1 Pkg Ranch dressing mix
- 1 Can of Cream of Chicken Soup
- 1 Cup of sour cream
- 3 Cups rice
- Shredded cheese (optional)
- Combine garlic, bacon bits, ranch dressing mix, cream of chicken soup, and sour cream in a bowl. Mix well.
- Place chicken in crock pot and pour mixture over chicken.
- Cook on HIGH 3-4 hours or on LOW 5-6 hours.
- When chicken is done prepare rice and shred chicken.
- Mix rice with chicken in crock pot. Stir in cheese (optional).
- Serve.
- We found that we enjoyed this much better when served with rice than with the egg noodles called for in the original recipe. We also found that we prefer real bacon bits. We like to mix shredded sharp cheddar cheese in the mixture at the end to allow it melt. If you find that the rice or chicken is too dry for your family you can add more sour cream and/or cream of chicken soup the next time.
