- Ball valve of the same size as the pipe your faucet is screwed on to (ie. a 3/4″ ball valve for a 3/4″ pipe)
- A pipe nipple of the same diameter as the ball valve (it only needs to be a couple inches unless you want the valve sticking out further)
- Teflon tape
- A pipe wrench
- Possibly a water key to turn off your water depending on the type of valve your water municipality uses
Here are the steps I used to replace the old faucets with a new valve.
1. Shut off the main water supply to the house. Mine is located at the far end of the main part of my property and is simply a ball valve itself so I just turned it to the off position.
You are all set to go. A simple half twist of the ball valve and your faucet is fully open. To get less water, simply open the ball valve part way just like you would with a regular water faucet. Enjoy your new faucet (or at least your new valve).
